There is a lot of speculation about what is going to happen with the Alfa Romeo re-introduction to the USA, but it appears that one new model will be a replacement for the mid-size 166 sedan. The 169 will likely be rear-wheel drive and possibly based on a Chrysler 300 platform. Not quite sure what to think about that, although it is solid will it be sporty enough to uphold the Alfa tradition? No doubt the brand will have to go after the BMW 5-series and Mercedes E-class among others, but that is a very tough challenge, particularly with American buyers who basically have no strong feeling for the brand and the historical reputation for quality and dealer support is mediocre at best. But I like the looks of the car, if this is anywhere close to the real thing.
